"Having a Baby" Student and Teacher Workbook Sets

Set includes 25 x A5 student books and 1 x A5 teachers guide. Additional workbooks can be purchased at $10 each on request.

These workbooks have been designed in response to a demand from school and community for more follow up activities related to pregnancy and parenting issues. Topics include interviewing a new mother about her lived experience, looking at the role of fatherhood, understanding the effects of drugs and alcohol, and having a closer look at breastfeeding.

The "Having a Baby" set includes a workbook and teachers guide, which includes answers to some activities and pages for copying for distribution.
The alternative workbook set is designed for use amongst Indigenous groups with the exercises tailored to reflect issues and circumstances more appropriate to remotely located communities. This set also includes a CD for displaying the presentation on a screen as well as files for printing and distributing for handouts.

Also included, is a set of the Real Deal word cards for promoting discussion about healthy and unhealthy relationships (these are also available for purchase separately). Cards with powerful emotive words will provide a platform for discussion and can be the basis for further extension activities related to relationships and domestic violence.
